Spencer Tunick’s bold, challenging Sea of Hull photoshoot was an integral part of the City of Culture Year. The ambitious project saw more than 3200 people take to streets naked, forming a sea of blue and green bodies that stretched across the city centre. It was the centrepiece of Skin – an exploration of nude art at the Ferens Gallery.

To celebrate the occasion, the gallery came to us to create designs for the exhibition, as well as a series of keepsakes, posters, postcards and merchandise.

Adapting distinctive design elements from the new Ferens branding, and combining it with a colour palette inspired by the painted bodies – we created this beautiful graphic title for the exhibition. The result was something that tied the gallery firmly to the project and helped to promote the ground-breaking exhibition to people from across the city and beyond.
